The Art of Cold
The Art of Cold captures the paradoxes of the female experience, reflecting societal demands for elegance and composure, even in the face of adversity. “The series is a meditation on the paradoxes of womanhood, vulnerability, and resilience,”
In the work, cold is both a literal and symbolic force—external pressures that test endurance and internal battles faced with poise. Women are often expected to withstand these challenges with quiet grace, even when the weight is unbearable. This duality of suffering and strength forms the heart of The Art of Cold
The Art of Cold is both a performance and a commentary. It challenges societal expectations of women while celebrating the strength found in solidarity and endurance.
Enduring discomfort, whether in art or life, is an act of empowerment. The quiet resilience I seek to capture in The Art of Cold feels more urgent than ever. It’s a strength that doesn’t always roar but exists in the ability to survive, to hold grace under pressure, and to find solidarity in the face of an unforgiving world.

The air is thin,
Red and white surround us in soft fabrics.
We sit gossiping like telephone wires.
Me and you.
Under a stormy sky, which you see as blue.
My skin, under white light,
reveals gashes from a brush.
You are kind to me,
yet your iris stains my freshly washed clothes.
I blame you, for only you can control your gaze.
My soul sinks as you tell me,
"When you bite into a heart, It tastes like nothing".
With shaky hands, I hold a jar.
Red and white, once again.
You hear metal dance against glass,
terrified movements from inside.
When the contradictory colours are lifted.
You say,
"We can’t eat that, it’s spoiled!"
But it doesn't matter anymore.
I pick and pick at the scab.
Once a cut that I wish revealed bone.
The only thing left of our brief encounter,
hoping it’ll scar.
